threetier eveolved out of a collaborative project during the years of study. The project was about a web application that helps writers to offer their articles. The prototype that was deleloped during that project was enhanced and out of that the interest in creating web applications and web pages arised.

Within this, we occupied ourselves intensively with different technologies (JEE, JSF, Apache Tomcat, YAML, MySQL, and so on). These technologies were used to develop multitier business applications. Out of that, the hosting of these applications was needed with a professional management. That means a reliable backup, technical security agains attacks, monitoring of the server performance, E-Mail hosting and web statistics.

More and more beside the development of complex applications, "normal" web pages were needed. Because of that we engaged ourselves in the area of web content mangement. With the content management system Typo3 we are using a standard and open source system, that allows to create web pages very fast and easy. With its open plugin concept it is also possible to integrate a lot of functionality without programming too much code.

With the successful completion of our IT study (main focus networks and software development) we got a wide expertise in issues around the World Wide Web. Beyond the technical background, we acquired the required professionalism to perform successful projects.

• Peter Schwab actually is a graduate IT student with a focus on operating systems, database management and software engineering.
• Christian Eckelmann works in a large automotive company group in the service field. He is a project manager and coordinates a software launch in the area of customer service.
• Daniel Horn is employed in a mid-sized company as an IT specialist. He supervises several applications around corporate content management and because of that also has a lot to do with project management.
